ABOUT US

The Youth Organizing Fellowship, or YOF, is a youth-led community organizing program that uses a racial justice lens to build the skills we need as young people to transform Ithaca into a more equitable and socially just community. Our team is working to implement participatory budgeting in Ithaca in 2018.

People's Budget Campaign

The People's Budget (Participatory Budgeting) is a democratic process in which community members directly decide how to spend part of a public budget. YOF plans to implement Participatory Budgeting (PB) in the city of Ithaca and give power to the underrepresented and marginalized voices of our community. The Fellowship has been working since spring of 2016 to implement PB, and have a lot of work ahead to accomplish this goal in 2018! See details of what YOF has done so far and what is planned, as well as an overview of the pilot year of People's Budget Campaign.
